Joe Biden removed Afghanistan from the list of US non-NATO allies

The White House announced that it has removed the name of Afghanistan from the list of non-NATO allies of the United States.

On Friday, September 23, 1401, Joe Biden removed the name of Afghanistan from the list of non-NATO allies as an ally of this country in accordance with the Arms Export Control Act.

In this memo, Biden wrote that according to his authority as the President of the United States and according to Section 517 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 of the Constitution and Laws of the United States as amended (22 U.S.C. 2321k), he announces the removal of the name of Afghanistan from the list of allies of the United States. He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make this issue public.

He had previously asked the US Congress to remove Afghanistan from the list of non-NATO allies of this country.
