Afghanistan is on the brink of a mental health disaster, the Children’s Protection Agency warned

The Children’s Protection Organization has warned that Afghanistan is on the brink of a mental health disaster. This organization said that several decades of war, insecurity and economic crisis have damaged the mental health of children.

According to the report of the International Organization for the Protection of Children in Afghanistan, one out of every four girls suffers from depression or anxiety.

This organization has warned that many Afghan children and girls may not have the facilities for treatment and recovery and may face long-term complications.

According to the statistics of the Child Protection Organization, more than 4 million and 460 thousand Afghans, both children and adults, have suffered from mental problems, and only 308,661 of them have access to psychotherapy services.

Children in Afghanistan are malnourished, they miss out on education, and despite their young age, they have to work and try to support their families.

This organization says that Afghan children have symptoms such as nightmares, aggression, self-harm and uncontrollable crying.
